Power tools for Nigerian importers and wholesalers
Nigeria is the market where the specification conversation is shortest, because everyone already knows the grid is unreliable. What takes longer is agreeing the battery platform and the voltage, because getting those wrong is what customers bring back.
The two facts that decide the specification
230 V, 50 Hz — Type D and Type G plugs
A three-pin 13 A Type G plug and the older round-pin Type D are both in normal use, and both are asked for. Tool chargers and power supplies must be rated for 220–240 V, not 110 V. We confirm the plug moulding against your order before production, not after.
SONCAP is initiated in Nigeria, not here
Regulated goods need a SONCAP certificate before clearance. The application is made by the importer or their clearing agent in Nigeria. We supply the technical file that goes into it — test reports, rating-plate data, model list, voltage declaration and production photographs.
Categories we would open a Nigerian range with
Two channels buy differently. Construction and hardware wholesale wants the tools that repair and build; the northern livestock economy wants the tools that handle animals. Most importers eventually need both.
| Category | Channel | What to fix before you order |
|---|---|---|
| Angle grinders | Hardware wholesale, fabrication, construction supply | Disc size (100 or 125 mm), 220–240 V, plug moulding, retail or plain export carton |
| Cordless drills | Electrical and plumbing supply, DIY retail | 12 V or 18 V platform, chuck size, one battery or two, colour and silkscreen |
| Electric chain saws | Firewood, land clearing, butcheries, farm supply | Bar length 12–18 in, chain and bar included, whether a spare chain ships with each unit |
| Electric wool shears | Livestock markets, farm supply, veterinary distributors | Blade gap for wool or coarse coat, spare cutter and comb sets on the same order |
| Turbine blowers | Workshop cleaning, vehicle servicing, agri-processing | Corded or battery, nozzle and brush kit, 90,000 or 140,000 RPM class |
| Irrigation & livestock water | Farm supply, agri-dealers, cooperatives | Flow and head needed, solar or mains, mounting and pipe connections |
Getting it to Nigeria
Tell us the list and the port
Lagos is the usual destination for this trade, with Onne for the eastern and oil-service market. Your clearing agent handles the entry; we need to know the port so the packing and the documents match what they expect.
We quote FOB, in writing, once
Unit price, MOQ, carton dimensions and weights, units per carton, lead time, certification status and trade terms in one document you can forward internally. We do not publish prices on the site, because the right price depends on the configuration, the quantity and the port.
Conformity and documents are prepared in parallel
SONCAP runs on the Nigerian side while production runs here. We prepare the technical file, the invoice, the packing list, the certificate of origin and the certification documents where applicable, and we send them before the vessel sails.
Mixed containers, if you buy from several suppliers
Nigeria is a market where buyers routinely source tools from one supplier, hardware or packaging from another. We can receive those goods at our warehouse, check them against the packing lists and load one container with one set of shipping documents on our side. How consolidation works.
Payment, trade terms and what we will not claim
FOB, T/T, confirmed in writing
We ship FOB Shenzhen, Ningbo or Yiwu, so you own the freight contract and the bill of lading is in your name. Payment is T/T — deposit against the confirmed order, balance before shipment — and the schedule is written into the proforma rather than agreed on a call.
If you need CIF or delivered pricing we will introduce you to forwarders we work with. They contract with you directly and you see the actual freight cost rather than a margin hidden inside ours.
What we are
We are a trading and export company, not a manufacturer. We buy from vetted Chinese factories, inspect the batch before loading, and ship under our own brand or yours. We do not publish prices, we do not pretend to be a factory, and we do not brand other people's trademarks.
Those are the three things a serious Nigerian importer checks first, and it is cheaper for both of us to state them on page one.
Private label from 30 units per model covers branding, not re-engineering: your logo and colour on the tool, charger, manual and carton, on the same electrical platform we already produce. A genuine change to the tool is ODM work and is quoted per project. See OEM / ODM.
Send us your Nigerian list and your port
Models, quantities, destination port and the voltage you need — and you get a written FOB quotation with MOQ, packing and lead time, usually within one business day.
