Quality control

Every order is inspected before it is loaded

You are buying from China at a distance. The most expensive mistake in this trade is not a high price — it is a container that arrives with the wrong plug, a missing accessory or ten dead units in the middle. This page is what we do about that, and what you receive as evidence.

The inspection checklist

Every line below is checked on the shipment, not on a sample of one, unless the note says otherwise.

When the inspection happens

Sample stage

Before any bulk order, the sample is tested and photographed so that both sides are looking at the same physical object when we say "this specification".

Pre-production, for private label

The branded sample is checked for logo placement, colour and manual and carton content. You approve it in writing before the run starts.

Pre-shipment, every order

After production and before the container is booked. This is the last point at which a problem is cheap to fix.

If something fails

  1. We stop the shipment

Nothing leaves while a documented defect is open. We tell you the same day, with the photographs, rather than after the vessel has sailed.

  2. We tell you the options

Usually three: rework, replace the affected units, or ship the good portion and re-quote the rest. The cost of the rework is ours and the line's to settle, not yours to absorb silently.

  3. You decide in writing

The decision is yours, and it is recorded. We do not ship a compromised batch and hope the buyer does not notice.

What we do not claim

We do not own a testing laboratory and we do not issue certificates. Where certification matters to your market, the certificate comes from a recognised body — and you should always check that the certificate names the exact model number you are importing, not just the manufacturer.

  • We will not send you a certificate for a different model number
  • We will not describe an inspection as independent when it is ours
  • We will not hide a defect behind a favourable photograph

If you want a genuinely independent third-party inspection — SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek or a local agent — appoint them and we will accommodate the visit and the sampling. Many of our buyers do exactly that on larger orders, and we would rather you did.

Certification: who pays and who owns it

How certification is usually handled
SituationHow it works
General exportCE as standard on applicable models. Other marks are handled on request.
A certificate you need for your marketYou tell us the requirement and the destination; we obtain a quotation from a recognised testing body and confirm the cost before production starts. The cost sits in your quotation, not in a surprise invoice later.
Import clearance documentsSome destinations require conformity documents raised in the importing country, initiated by the importer. We supply the technical file — test reports, specifications, photographs — so your broker can raise them.
Private labelThe certificate has to name the brand and model being shipped, which is why private-label certification is quoted as part of the OEM programme.

Certification requirements and costs differ by destination and by product. Everything on this page is confirmed per order in writing.
