What you can change before we produce
None of this is fixed until you approve it in writing. These are the options buyers change most often on Feed & grain processing orders:
- Throughput in tonnes or kilograms per hour
- Motor voltage, power and plug type for your market
- Screen or perforation size, and whether screens are interchangeable
- Electric motor or diesel engine drive
- Skid-mounted, wheeled or bare unit
How our OEM/ODM programme works · How we inspect before shipping
Where these tools are used
- On-farm feed grinding and mixing
- Commercial feed mills and cooperatives
- Poultry and pig feed preparation
- Forage and silage chopping
- Maize and grain shelling and milling
Market notes. Feed is the largest single cost line in livestock and poultry production in the markets we ship to, and the machinery that reduces it is bought by farmers, cooperatives and small mills rather than by contractors. Buyers ask for throughput in kilograms per hour and a screen they can change, because the right grind depends on the animal and the raw material available that season. One practical point that matters more here than in most categories: a hammer mill or chaff cutter can be repaired by a local welder, so buyers care about simple, serviceable construction and about a spare screen and set of hammers being available, rather than about a warranty they cannot practically use.
Feed & grain processing — buyer questions
What throughput do I need?
Work back from the animals: the kilograms of feed per day you have to produce, and the number of hours a day you are willing to run the mill. A mill quoted at 1,000 kg per hour run for two hours a day feeds a lot of poultry. Most buyers over-specify the mill and under-specify the screens.
Electric or diesel?
Electric where the mains is dependable, diesel where it is not or where the mill is moved between sites. A diesel-driven unit costs more and needs more maintenance, but it does not stop when the grid does. We can quote either on the same machine frame.
Are spare screens and hammers available?
Yes, and we would rather quote them with the machine than after it. Screens, hammers and belts are the parts that wear, and a mill that cannot be re-screened is a mill that gets abandoned.
