What this model is for
A maize sheller built around a rubber-tyred or steel-tooth drum that separates grain from the cob with a low breakage rate, then screens out the chaff and the fines through a cleaning shoe. Breakage is the figure that matters commercially: cracked grain stores badly and prices badly, which is why the drum speed and the clearance are set for the cob size rather than for maximum throughput. Supplied with a threshing variant for sorghum, millet and other small grains.

What breakage rate should I expect?
Very little, if the drum clearance is set to your cob size and the grain is dry. Breakage rises sharply when the clearance is left at the factory setting for a smaller or larger cob, or when the maize is harvested wet. Tell us the cob size and the moisture and we will set the machine before shipment.
Can it thresh small grains as well?
Yes, with the threshing drum and concave fitted. It is the same frame and the same drive, so a buyer who handles both maize and sorghum does not need two machines.
