What this model is for
A chaff cutter that takes fresh or dried forage — maize stalks, Napier grass, sorghum, groundnut haulm, crop residue — and chops it to a length set by the feed rollers. Chop length is the adjustment that matters: too long and the animals sort the ration and leave the stem behind, too short and the material packs and the machine labours. Built with a flywheel that carries momentum through a stiff bundle of stalks, which is what separates a cutter that works all day from one that stalls on the first green load.

What chop length should I set?
It depends on the animal and on whether the material is going into a silage pit or straight to the trough. Long chop suits dry roughage and hand feeding; short chop is needed for silage, because the material has to pack tightly to exclude air. Tell us the crop and the end use and we will set the rollers before shipment.
Can it run from a tractor?
Yes, a PTO-driven version is available for buyers with a tractor and no dependable mains supply. It is the same cutting head on a different drive, which matters because it means the spare blades are common to both.
