Why not just use the sheep shears on a horse?
Because of the stroke rate and the noise. A shearing handpiece is built to get fleece off fast, and on a horse that means an uncomfortable animal, a stressed operator and a worse clip. This unit is slower and quieter, which is why veterinary and stables channels buy it separately rather than substituting.
