What this model is for

A brushless DC submersible pump driven directly from a photovoltaic array through an MPPT controller, with no battery bank required for daytime irrigation. The controller tracks the array rather than running it at a fixed voltage, which is what keeps the pump delivering through the middle of the day instead of stalling as the panels heat up. Supplied as pump and controller alone for buyers who source panels locally, or as a complete kit with panels and mounting frame.

What you get

  • MPPT controller keeps output up as panel temperature rises
  • Dry-run protection available, which is the commonest cause of failure in this category
  • Runs without a battery bank for daytime irrigation
  • Panel array sized to your daily water volume rather than to the pump rating
  • Pump and controller can be quoted without panels where local sourcing is cheaper

Solar Submersible Pump Kit with MPPT Controller — buyer questions

Do I need batteries with the solar pump?

Not for daytime irrigation. The pump runs directly from the array through the controller, which is how most field systems are built because it removes the battery bank from the cost and the maintenance. Batteries are worth adding when you need to irrigate early morning or evening, or when the water is being stored in a tank rather than delivered straight to the field.

How do I size the panel array?

From the daily water volume, the total head and your local peak-sun hours, not from the pump rating. Tell us the volume you need per day and the lift, and we will size both the pump and the array together so the two match.
